About VEHI/PATH

  • What is VEHI?
    • The Vermont Education Health Initiative (VEHI) is a large, non-profit purchaser of health care plans for Vermont's school employees. This purchasing trust is managed jointly by the Vermont School Boards Insurance Trust (VSBIT) and the Vermont-National Education Association (Vermont-NEA).
  • What is PATH?
    • VEHI's Planned Action Toward Health (PATH) program offers a wide-range of cost- effective, best practice activities and elements of wellness to help school employees take action to lead healthier, safer lives which can help lower insurance costs. 
  • What are PATHpoints? 
    • PATHpoints are points earned when employees report participation in PATH programs online at www.tomypath.com. Besides the intrinsic value of better health, employees who keep a regular account of their participation can qualify for an incentive prize at the end of the school year.
  • What is the PATH Adventure?
    • VEHI’s PATH Adventure is a 10-week challenge that employees can participate in to improve their fitness, nutritional practices and general well-being. The PATH Adventure is only one of the various Thriving with PATH programs available. Read below for more information!
VEHI PATH is a comprehensive, web-based wellness program with interactive tools, positive reinforcements and a chance to win a great prize. It’s up to you to launch your PATH. Start by signing in at tomypath.com or create a new account. Make a commitment that works for you, and let the resources in the PATH program keep you motivated.

Here is a sample of PATH programs available to you (click here for list of all programs):

  • Take an online course to learn about healthy changes to your life, like reducing sugar or practicing mindful, nonviolent communication. (20-50 pts)/
  • Complete a Healthy Life Survey to assess your current health (50-60 pts).
  • Record your exercise online for 6 months using the PATH Community and track your progress all year long (60 pts).
  • Find a peer to work with you while working toward individual lifestyle goals in a Peer Coaching course (50 pts).
  • Work with a professional coach over the phone in Progress Coaching to find your best thinking around your health goals (50 pts).
  • Participate in the interactive PATH Adventure for 10 weeks in January to kick-start a new year (50 pts).
  • Get in-person, confidential counseling, legal and financial advice, and referral information about a range of life and workplace related issues with Invest EAP (50 pts).
  • Visit your doctor to check and discuss your vital data in Know Your Numbers (25 pts).
  • Visit your dentist to have a dental health check in Show Your Smile (25 pts).
  • Participate in a Wellness Leader Sponsored Event! Wellness Leaders will organize events during the year to help build morale among colleagues and try something that works a school’s individual interests and needs (up to 10 pts each).
  • Brush up on safety tips and health skills with Calendar Puzzlers each month (5 pts each).
